“Family: The Hope of the World” is the theme of the 8th World Congress of Polish Families, set to take place from September 19 to 21, 2025, in Chicago, a city renowned for its rich Polish heritage. This international event, which has long served as a unifying platform, will bring Poles from across the globe to celebrate and strengthen their shared values and traditions.

A Mission to Empower Families

The Congress aims to support the family as the cornerstone of social life, promote Polish culture and traditions, and reinforce the bonds among Poles living abroad. It offers a platform for exchanging experiences, addressing common challenges, and exploring shared solutions for the future.
Bishop Piotr Turzyński, the Delegate of the Polish Bishops’ Conference for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigrants, emphasized the critical importance of family issues in today’s world. In his message for the Congress, he stated that the future of Europe and Western civilization hinges on addressing matters such as marital relationships and child-rearing.

A Dynamic Program for All Generations

The Congress will feature a diverse program, including panel discussions with experts in education, family life, culture, and politics. There will also be thematic workshops for youth, parents, and seniors, networking opportunities, artistic performances, and a solemn Mass and prayer for the Poles abroad worldwide. The event is open to all Poles living abroad, regardless of age or experience.

Building on Past Successes

The 7th World Congress of Polish Families concluded in August 2024 in Brussels, drawing 150 in-person participants and hundreds more who joined via a live YouTube broadcast. That event focused on the mystery and beauty of the marriage and family vocation, offering attendees insights and inspiration.

The Pope’s Vision of Family as a „School of Love”

Pope Francis has frequently underscored the vital role of families in the Church and society. He describes the family as a “school of love” where individuals learn essential values such as forgiveness, mutual respect, and interpersonal relationships. The Pope also emphasizes that the family is where God’s love and mercy are first experienced. His apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love) addresses many facets of family life, offering guidance and encouragement for families navigating modern challenges.
Chicago Awaits the Global Polish Community

With its deep-rooted Polish traditions, Chicago is the ideal host for this landmark event. The Congress promises to be an enriching experience, fostering unity, cultural pride, and a renewed commitment to the family as a beacon of hope for the world.
